Today’s poetry prompt:
Write me a poem where the last line is the same as the first, but it means something different by the time we get there. (Join here)
Martha’s Poem:
You never know how heavy it feels
The load of gifts I have to conceal.
Peace comes in December
The year ends with a soft sigh.
As the leaves have fallen
And all the greenery will die.
Sing a song of joy and cheer
For soon it will be a brand new year!
And worries of 2025 fade away
As we make way for brand new days.
There is a spark that is lit like a quiet ember
Peace comes in December.
You never know how heavy it feels
To carry the burden of lost ones every year.
