Martha's contribution:
Sorrow.
What is it made of?
It's made of short and long goodbyes.
It's made of learning some lessons too late.
It's made of loss, regret, and mistakes you've made.
Sorrow is made of a heart that loves so much...
That even when the bad knocks at the door...
All that remains is love...
And grief takes your hand to lead you to a lifetime of sorrow.
This is a personal addition after the original poem I wrote above is done...
Sorrow...
It's a little girl who says goodbye to her innocence.
It's a girl who grew up way too fast.
It's a child who was the only one but learned to make herself small.
It's a teenager who felt alone and discarded.
It's a young woman who lost so much she can hardly breathe.
It's a mother saying goodbye to the daughter she wanted but lost.
It's a battered woman who feels she failed after 9 months of physical and mental domestic abuse.
It's a young woman who had to let go of her dream to keep the man she married.
It's a broken woman who refused to die simply divorced the narcissist abuser.
It's a daughter saying goodbye to her mother then 5 months later goodbye to her father.
It's the grieving soul who was stripped of her home and abandoned by those she only wanted love from.
It's the middle aged woman begging her heart to not stop beating after 3 heart attacks and 3 stents.
It's the fed up soul who just is tired.
It's the tears she sheds through her walk of life.
A woman... full of sorrow.
